MRI Programs in Los Angeles - Schools, Tuition & Aid

Los Angeles is California's largest healthcare market - home to Cedars-Sinai, UCLA Health, USC Keck, Kaiser, and hundreds of imaging centers. Find your MRI program here.

The Los Angeles metro is the largest and most complex healthcare market in California, offering extensive clinical training opportunities and strong long-term employment for MRI technologists. The LA–Long Beach–Anaheim metro median MRI salary is $114,380/year (BLS May 2024). The density of hospitals, outpatient imaging centers, and specialty clinics creates both training sites and career opportunities that are difficult to match elsewhere in the state.

Choosing an MRI School in Los Angeles

Tip 1.
LA traffic is real. Consider a school with clinical sites near where you live - a 40-minute clinical shift commute easily becomes 90 minutes on the 405. Ask for specific clinical site addresses before enrolling.
Tip 2.
Outpatient vs hospital clinical experience. LA has both. Ask programs whether clinicals are primarily at hospitals or outpatient centers - each gives you different experience and networking opportunities.
Tip 3.
Check parking and transit access. If you don't drive, verify whether the campus and clinical sites are accessible via Metro or bus. Some LA campuses have ample parking; others are in congested areas.
